Professor Julius Sumner Miller’s TV Show “Why Is It So?” was broadcast on ABC TV from 1963 to 1986 and became an instant hit known for its “cool experiments, interesting science, and fantastic hair.” He introduced each episode with the line: “How do you do, ladies and gentlemen, and boys and girls I am Julius Sumner Miller, and physics is my business.”
Professor Miller was born in Billerica, Massachusetts the youngest of nine children. He graduated with a Philosophy degree and a Master’s in Physics from Boston University in 1933.
Many of the scientific principles covered in Professor Millers programs are directly relevant in designing an F1 car and in respect of this great scientific educator, we have included links to a number of his amazing videos from the “Why Is It So” program.
