Partnerships between schools and industry can take many forms and can achieve a wide range of outcomes. From coordinating in-school mentoring, arranging site visits and providing funding for teams are just a few of the possible outcomes.

The Department of Defence supports a range of skilling and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives which seek to address industry capacity and capability gaps and boost the pool of STEM skills available to the Australian defence industry.

The Re-Engineering Australia Foundation is a recipient of a Department of Defence 2017-18 School Pathways Programme Grant and undertakes a range of activities to increase the pool of young people undertaking STEM subjects at school and raise students’ awareness of defence industry as a viable, exciting and long-term career option.
