Silverback Racing is a program to encourage retired teachers and Engineers to engage with students, helping them with their STEM projects. It aims to facilitate the knowledge which exists in the current teaching staff being shared with the new breed of teachers.
Boys in particular are influenced by role models and this program supports the development of positive role models in society interacting with the students.
Boys make the majority of their most important decisions around the age of 14 and their decisions are usually predicated on the amount of personal interaction they encounter with role models and mentors during the period they are hunting for guidance and direction in their life. For them continuous interaction with role models is a critical component in their development.
